I love to entertain, but sometimes I over complicate things by choosing a labor intensive recipe, keeping me in the kitchen while everyone else is having fun. When you’re having a simple gathering or an impromptu dinner party it’s good to have a few recipes on standby that you can make in an instant. In the past guacamole has always been a good one as well as a homemade bruschetta.
Over the summer I had a great little dish at the English tapas restaurant, The Shed. Toasted goats cheese with hazelnuts, honey and thyme, easily one of my favorite dishes of the evening.
By adding the bread to the mix you make it an easier party appetizer for everyone to eat. And the best part? It only takes 10 minutes to make! Simply toast the bread, spread the goats cheese on and bake in the oven for only a minute or two. Make sure to coarsely chop and toast the hazelnuts. Afterwards sprinkle the nuts and the thyme over the goats cheese followed by a drizzle of honey to finish off the dish! How easy is that?
